The Pain of Losing You

An RNP poem about the choice that hurts from either direction.

🎧 Audio Conversation

Listen to the companion conversation exploring love, loss, identity, impossible choices, and the pain of losing someone—or losing yourself while trying to remain.

I could never admit to myself what it would be like without you

Yet a part of me tells me that something inside me could die if I am with you

Perhaps destiny or fate is funny that way

One moment you'll find happiness with someone

Then other times, you find yourself that you can't live without them

But there are times, that you realize someone you love seems so far away

And there were times, you'd wish you did chose to be by that someone.

If I choose to be besides you

What will you do?

If I choose to be besides you

What will you say?

But if I choose to be without you

Who will you choose?

And if I choose to be without you

Who will be besides you?

They say love gives and love sacrifice

They say loving someone is not to love yourself

Because if love, is to give one's self to someone

Then I'd be lost without myself

But it's harder to live without you

It's even harder to live without myself if I am with you

Either way, the pain of losing you is the same

Neither way, the choice remains the same

The Pain of losing you, inside remains

If I can understand every words in my thoughts

If I can give everything for you in this world

If I can say every words to remain the same

Perhaps who we are - are not meant to be

Perhaps we're only too blind to see

That you and I could never be

Despite the love we thought would be

If I can be the hero for you

Will you remain with me?

If was the villain

Will you still love me?

Because the hardest part, and this much is true

Is the Pain of losing You.
