Longing for Heaven
Everyone longs for heaven someday
Our hearts filled with emptiness
We fill the void with everything in the world
When it seems so hopeless
When problems are bigger than us
When nothing seems to work
And we don’t succeed
We situations are beyond our control
The world cannot fill us any longer
When we cannot contain our loneliness anymore
We long for heaven
God created heaven and earth
We are on earth
And God is in heaven
On earth we feel pain and loneliness
Living in hatred and anger
Our body makes us weary and sigh
God promised us His return
By His son Jesus Christ
He has given us hope
A second chance, a second birth
And His love is unfailing
His mercy and grace endures forever
Through Christ, the only way to God
With God fulfilled
Our longing for heaven
Seeking the giver
Not the gift
