Opening Reflection
It has been so long since I could feel that I've forgotten what it is to live. It takes oneself to realize that before a new life begins, the old self has to die. But that death did not come without a price, and it also brought a new beginning. Whatever lies ahead is yet unknown. But the air seems different—more exhilarating, more purposeful. No matter how many tears were left from the past, I can't move forward if I don't let go. Perhaps it's better this way. I can't really say. I only know that there is no turning back to the person I once was.
Just as the next line remains unknown,
my next step in life remains unknown.
You can't hurt a man who can no longer feel.
You can't change the past that made him real.
They say that a desperate man clings to the knife he holds dear for his life.
Where else can he turn when he's pushed against the wall, fighting for his life?
Light fades when darkness falls,
as does he who tries to please them all.
He gave his life, his love, and all.
Time spent and gone—he gave it all.
The life he lives is not for him to hold.
The life he left behind—the future unfolds.
I can never bring back what I cannot carry anymore.
If the pain is too much to bear, this life gives me no choice but to become cold.
No one will tell me anymore what is wrong or right, because I did it all.
I've seen darkness rise from where the sun falls.
I've seen the light that changes it all.
If I am what is left of this body and my time draws near,
then I'll do what is only fit for me.
I can't seem to walk in the light
when light fades and nothing is left of morality.
The darkness in my thoughts is not born from evil,
but it was sought out of love.
Because love unchanged is hate revealed,
and time will tell if love turns evil.
I won't change my course or change my heart
if only to be given and torn apart.
Sometimes we need some darkness in our hearts,
because even the truth has names in the dark.
If we deny our darkest heart,
we also deny the truth in our hearts.
Both truths exist in a place
where a man lives without others noticing.
The deeper we seek,
the more we see what becomes weak.
The deeper we seek.
The more it reeks.
The deeper we seek.
The more it peaks.
